The Friday Night Blues Jam has grown in popularity every year

This is an opportunity for keen amateur musicians and outfits to get up and perform in front of an appreciative audience. Young and old are invited to register to play with an independent judging panel choosing a winner based on their ability to ‘jam’ with others, originality, crowd response, talent and skill. A back line is provided. A fun start to a weekend of some great blues music!

The Bruthen Blues & Arts Festival Friday Night Blues Jam will be held at the
Bruthen Inn Hotel on Friday February 18 2022 from 7.30pm-12.30am

The Bruthen Blues & Arts Festival is a volunteer-run, family-friendly event which reflects the inclusive spirit of Bruthen and East Gippsland. Held on the third weekend of February each year, it is a perfect time to head east!

The Bruthen Blues and Arts Festival Friday Night Blues Jam is an opportunity for keen amateur musicians and outfits to get up and perform two songs to an enthusiastic audience. Acts are judged on several aspects of their performance including the ability to ‘jam’ with others, originality, crowd response, talent and skill. Jammers are in the running for several great prizes including weekend festival passes and a paid set at the Blues Café on the Saturday night. It is a blues festival, so we encourage artists to perform this genre, however, any genre is welcomed.

The use of pre-recorded backing tracks is not permitted at this live jam.

Some simple rules apply:

Strictly 2 songs per act (an artist might play one song solo, and invite others to jam for a second song)
Spots are limited. Entries will be accepted on a ‘first in best dressed’ basis until all places are filled.
You will be notified that your application has been received and of the time you have been allocated. You can request a preferred time slot (below) which we will accommodate where possible, however, the slot you are allocated via email is final. If you are not at the event on time you will lose your spot.
If there are any remaining spots on the night artists can register at the venue
NB Current COVID-19 restrictions will apply which may include being double-vaxxed to be able to attend.
